Rose Mallow Hibiscus likes moist soil and can take summer heat if mulched well. Showy, 5-petaled flowers up to 3 inches in diameter appear on new seasons growth in early-summer and bloom into late fall.Each hollyhock-like flower has a prominent and showy center column of stamens.This produces a lavender colored blossom which can be used for tea. Hibiscus blooms are edible. They also are believed to have medicianal value. This variety grows about 5 feet tall and can be seen at mature size here on the farm.
