This variety is a vigorous spreader, give it a spot to grow and it will likely produce in the first year. It will reach heights of 6-8 feet tall and produce large juicy clusters of berries that have many healing qualities. I do have shrub elderberries as well, but this one grows tall and more like an understory tree. Research the preparation of the juice for syrup as the berries raw are toxic if consumed in quantity. The MUST be properly prepared by cooking. DO NOT EAT RAW.
